Listed Building Windows & Render

Heritage refurbishment preserving character through traditional materials and craftsmanship.

The brief

The client sought to sympathetically restore and enhance the exterior of their historic home while retaining the building’s original character and architectural significance. The objective was to improve the property’s appearance, weather performance and energy efficiency through carefully considered repairs and traditional replacement materials that respected the building’s heritage.

Every aspect of the proposal was developed with conservation in mind, ensuring the improvements complemented the existing architecture while safeguarding the property’s historic identity for future generations.

Scope of Work

Our involvement included the preparation of comprehensive architectural drawings and heritage-sensitive proposals to support the refurbishment of the property’s external envelope.

The project included measured surveys, existing and proposed plans and elevations, site and location plans, detailed specifications for the replacement of heritage timber windows and doors, renewal of traditional lime render, and bespoke joinery details for Yorkshire sash and casement windows. Working alongside the heritage requirements of the building, we produced a coordinated package of drawings that balanced conservation principles with modern standards of durability, comfort and energy performance, providing the documentation required to support the planning and approval process.
